  1. Kristen, excellent starting point. Let's try to quantify these three aspects now. E.g. oil spills - how frequently do they occur, how many gallons are spilled, what is the cost to clean them, what percentage of their effects are irreversible, how much is wildlife (fish, birds) affected by them, etc. Oil spills are probably larger and you may be able to find an accurate history of all major spills. Illegal dumping and toxic waste probably occur in smaller incidents, but maybe they are also quantifiable. You can google on these aspects more specifically. Remember to leave a record of how you googled along with any important information that you find. Thanks!
